The origin of ALIF LAILA HOUSEBOATS date back to 1933 when the enterprising and intrepid Mr. M.S.SIAH, succeeded in creating some of the first ever fleet of houseboats which are so synonymous with Kashmir today. With little resources but using brains and brawn and subsequently going through the mill, he succeeded in establishing a name in the travel circles and created a fleet of deluxe houseboats, attracting wide recognition. Even Mrs. Indra Gandhi paid a visit and was very much impressed.
